Powell River Diversity Initiative’s mission is to create, sponsor, and promote diversity-related programs that increase awareness of diversity, provide diversity education, and foster an inclusive and safe community. PRDI is guided by a community steering committee with representation from a cross-section of the community. In addition to creating the documentary “Defining Diversity, Creating Community,” PRDI’s programs and projects have included the Safe Harbour Program, Open Cultural Exchange Project, Inter-cultural Parenting Project, Diversity Conversations, Talking/Listening Circles, Interfaith Fair and Community Dialogue Circles.
